J. Lohr Seven Oaks Cabernet Sauvignon (750ml, $17.99) is just a classic California cab. Period. Full stop. Winter is a great time to enjoy a big, bold, hearty wine like this. Perfect with a nice ribeye, even pasta with red sauce. Definitely not the kind of wine you drink on a steamy July night in Newport…but perfect for winter!
Whalers RISE IPA (6-pack, $9.99)…instead of wine…how about this delicious local craft beer? Pleasantly hoppy…but not overpowering…this is a very tasty IPA…brewed right here in Rhode Island. Feel good about supporting a local business while enjoying a great beer! If you want to get out of the house, visit their taproom at 1174 Kingstown Rd., Wakefield.
