I was excited to move to Rhode Island and join the Cumulus Providence family in 2016 for many different reasons. One of those being how close I’d be to the beach. Big beach guy. I’ve had such a great time exploring so many the state has to offer but find myself going back to Second Beach in Middletown.

As you can see in the above picture, the beach is pristine and the water is clear and warm (for the East Coast!). That feeling of being on the beach with your family and friends, enjoying the sun, sand and ocean, is what summer is all about and definitely one the best parts about living in this state. The great thing about that part of the coast too is there is First, Second and Third beach all in one area with other beaches like Easton right down the road so there’s plenty of beach for everyone.
If I get the chance, I’m all about starting the day on the beach and ending it on the water. If you’re presented an opportunity to get on a boat off Newport…do it! There’s nothing like ripping through the Atlantic Ocean with the amazing scenery around you from other incredible boats, stunning real estate and, of course, the Newport Bridge. It’s a great way to see the entire coast and how Rhode Island looks from the seas view. If you time it right, as you drive the boat back to shore, you’ll get a chance to see a sunset like this:
Start on the beach and end on the water. Ideal Rhode Island type of day!
